The Epidemic of Madness

Imagine burning the witches.

In early modern times, an epidemic of madness tortured, burned, drowned, and hanged witches and anyone accused of witchery.

Likewise, mass psychosis poisoned the soul of Germany during Hitler’s reign.

It gassed the jews.

And in no chronological order:

It enslaved the blacks, and continues to breed both white and color supremacy and builds enmity among all races and cultures.

It oppresses and discriminates against women.

It is the compulsion that kills animals out of some sort of ridiculous fear: snapping turtles, snakes, groundhogs, coyotes, bears, even spiders, and other crawly things.

It drove the inquisition.

It slaughtered the Native Americans.

It is the fuel that flames the fervor of Islam’s female phobia, their brutalization of women, and their patriarchal stupidity.

As I write, mass psychosis intensifies, furthering its assault on freedom. The Covidien Zealots, hornswoggled by an authoritative leviathan with its blood-sucking tentacles restraining reason. Posing as medical expertise with a parental devotion but serving its own nefarious end, tyranny. Infecting the world in an epidemic of madness by propelling covid hysteria to inscrutable heights of lunacy.

Fitting is the analogy of the Pied Piper of Hamelin and his stupefied rats as world populations march headlong and lockstep to their adversity.

But not everyone’s fooled.

Mass psychosis, it is the enemy of the individual. Robber of the courage and commitment to live free.

But a hero to the craven:

Just as tyranny depends on mass psychosis, the masses depend on tyranny.

“Unless we put medical freedom into the Constitution, the time will come when medicine will organize into an undercover dictatorship to restrict the art of healing to one class of men and deny equal privileges to others; the Constitution of this republic should make special privilege for medical freedom as well as religious freedom.” ~Benjamin Rush

  1. Dear Peter,

    Happy autumn to you!

    According to Wikipedia:

In 2012, Covidien acquired Newport Medical Instruments, a small ventilator manufacturer supplier. Newport Medical Instruments had been contracted in 2006 by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority to design a cheap, portable ventilator. At the time, Newport Medical Instruments had 3 working prototypes produced, and was on schedule to file for market approval late 2013. Covidien then effectively halted the project, subsequently exiting the contract, as it was not profitable enough. Government officials and other medical equipment suppliers suspect the Newport acquisition was largely done to prevent a cheaper product from undermining Covidien’s existing ventilator business. This contributed to the shortage of ventilators during the COVID-19 pandemic.

By the way, Thomas Stephen Szasz (15 April 1920 – 8 September 2012), a Hungarian-American academic, psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, considers that the quotee attributed to the quotation

The Constitution of this Republic should make special provision for medical freedom. To restrict the art of healing to one class will constitute the Bastille of medical science.

is not Benjamin Rush, who “was a signer of the United States Declaration of Independence and a civic leader in Philadelphia, where he was a physician, politician, social reformer, humanitarian, and educator and the founder of Dickinson College.”

Szasz, Thomas (March 2005). “A Bogus Benjamin Rush Quote: Contribution to the History of Pharmacracy”. History of Psychiatry. London, Thousand Oaks, California, and New Delhi: SAGE Publications. 16 (1): 89–98. doi:10.1177/0957154X05044554.

Thank you for composing this post to edify us of “[t]he Covidien Zealots, hornswoggled by an authoritative leviathan with its blood-sucking tentacles restraining reason. Wishing you a productive weekend doing or enjoying whatever that satisfies you the most!

    Yours sincerely,

    1. Thank you, SoundEagle. Interesting bit there. But regardless of who said it, I’d say it was someone with good insight and predictability of the future.

Here’s wishing you a grand weekend as well! And thanks for the lesson, BTW.

        1. Hey SoundEagle, I’ve another one for you, relative to the matter at hand and before its time. Feel free to verify, as I know you will 🙂

George Carlin, 1999: “What we have now is a completely neurotic population… Where did this sudden fear of germs come from in this country? Have you noticed this? The media, constantly running stories about all the latest infections – salmonella, e-coli, hantavirus, bird flu – and Americans, they panic easily so now everybody’s running around, scrubbing this and spraying that and overcooking their food and repeatedly washing their hands, trying to avoid all contact with germs. It’s ridiculous and it goes to ridiculous lengths… bunch of goddamn pussies! Besides, what do you think you have an immune system for? It’s for killing germs!… Let me tell you a true story about immunization okay? When I was a little boy in New York City in the 1940s, we swam in the Hudson River and it was filled with raw sewage okay? We swam in raw sewage! You know… to cool off! And at that time, the big fear was polio; thousands of kids died from polio every year but you know something? In my neighborhood, no one ever got polio! No one! Ever! You know why? Cause we swam in raw sewage! It strengthened our immune systems! The polio never had a prayer; we were tempered in raw shit! So personally, I never take any special precautions against germs. I don’t shy away from people that sneeze and cough, I don’t wipe off the telephone, I don’t cover the toilet seat, and if I drop food on the floor, I pick it up and eat it! Yes I do. Even if I’m at a sidewalk café! In Calcutta! The poor section! On New Year’s morning during a soccer riot! And you know something? In spite of all that so-called risky behavior, I never get infections, I don’t get them, I don’t get colds, I don’t get flu, I don’t get headaches, I don’t get upset stomach, you know why? Cause I got a good strong immune system and it gets a lot of practice…”

Of course, I’m not suggesting Carlin was a virologist or immunologist, that would be dangerously foolish of me, but there you have it, straight from the comedian’s mouth. Or not. 😉

BTW, as time permits, I have started on your The Quotation Fallacy once again. It’s excellent and already makes me feel somewhat guilty for using quotes. Well, at least, more conscientious in doing so.

          Hope your weekend’s going splendidly.

  2. The propagation of viruses that thrive in a habitat of human cells has been occurring for millennia. Both sides are mortal enemies in the infection wars, they are joined at the cellular level as strong contenders in an endless sequence of wars that span their common life and death on this planet. Humans are very good at describing their enemies in stark terms and viruses are just as good at keeping their human hosts as suitable places to thrive and exploit. The Delta Variation demonstrates that the virus knows how to make itself stronger. Somehow, it appears to me that those who disapprove of Covid-19 vaccines work in concert with the Covid-19 virus to convince about a third of the human population to eschew the vaccine at all costs, this works to keep the virus strong and ever stronger. People inject all manner to poisons into their system — anything but a vaccine that actually does its job of destroying a very specific virus. This results in a strange sort of turncoat, converting the actions of anti-vaccine agents into support staff for a virus foe that should be a common enemy to everyone but the virus that gets defeated by a vaccine. Safely at that. Polio sufferers did not suffer the slings and arrows of their fellow humans. They took the virus and defeated Polio. They still do. I remember the very near threat of polio vividly, and I do not understand how anyone could become anti-polio-vaccine zealots.
It is all very strange to me. Maybe it is simply generational; however, anything that makes a deadly virus even stronger seems to work tirelessly to defeat itself. WTF.

    1. Bill, thanks for stopping by and commenting on the vaccine. Although I think you misunderstand. I’m not talking about the vaccine. Although admittedly, the allusion is there by association. But as the title reads, I’m talking about mass psychosis and the epidemic of madness.

The epidemic of madness driving the Covidien Zealots, those at ground level and those in their ivory towers. Those in possession of the power to cancel opposition and those who reject all dissenting voices no matter the legitimacy and worth of their expertise.

I’m talking about redactions and flip-flopping, mass censorship in favor of the official narrative. I’m talking about the masses’ naïve willingness to accept as gospel the dictates from authorities who have an unblemished record of lies and deceptions. —Especially confounding to me are those people once distrustful of Authority who relinquished all suspicions of Authority. Go figure.

I’m talking about the insanity in the streets. The violence against people who choose not to wear a mask. The ostracization of those who choose not to take the vaccine.

I’m talking about the lack of investigation into the alleged deaths and injuries caused by the vaccine; about a questionable PCR test.

I’m talking about the Draconian measures that cause teenagers to kill themselves, that cause the elderly to die of loneliness, that stifle education, that shut down businesses, that destroy lives and livelihoods.

I’m talking about the lunacy that gives people money to do nothing. I’m talking about destroying the economy and driving poverty and hunger to unprecedented levels while enriching the Uber-rich. I’m talking about the resulting record inflation and unprecedented shortages (that, from the wholesale point-of-view, I predict are yet fully appreciated by the retail public).

I’m talking about sensationalism, fear tactics, and yellow journalism; the absence of suspicion of a hostile, overbearing narrative.

If all this doesn’t seem like mass psychosis to you, then certainly I’m the one affected.

But since you bring up vaccines so doggedly, it might interest you to know, Teri and I got the experimental Moderna jabs. It made us sicker than the covid we caught, at both injections. Far worse.

And as far as the anti-vaccine agents‘ concern is concerned, there’s a reason the federal government dedicated a federal court to the reimbursement of death and injury caused by vaccines. And it’s not because vaccines are always safe. Or one might wish to take the position they’re just placating the few anti-vaxxer nut-jobs. Whatever.

It’s funny to me (yes, seriously amusing), the Left’s hypocrisy, how militantly they advocate the vaccine to the point of forced vaccination—the violation of one’s determination over one’s body in the face of their obsession with a woman’s right over her body. And it might further interest you I don’t give two shits about abortions, per se. But I care about the right of choice. And dare I admit it in today’s subversive Marxist environment, that I am a patriot of freedom? If this makes me an anti-vaccine agent as well, then I stand guilty.

    1. “They took the virus.” Technically, you’re correct: the live poliovirus was in the oral polio vaccine (with some detrimental effects recorded, but it was easier to administer). But then it’s not experimental mRNA either, is it?

  3. Hospitals are inundated with people who have not been vaccinated. People who have *any* other reason for being treated get turned away at the hospital door, Lisa is one such person. Our entire household of three got jabbed twice with Pfizer’s product.
The correlation between antivaxxing and death by Covid is striking. Being in the company of an antivaxxer is just about the only way to contract Covid, it’s nearly a perfect predictor. I wear an N95 mask to express solidarity with each effort to reduce infection rates, it also expresses my concern that variants remain dangerous.
I do not see any mass psychosis out there, to me it is a simple matter of getting vaccinated or contracting the infection. My Crohn’s also makes me susceptible to any infection that attacks the immune system. I also reduce my chances of contracting *any* kind of bug for this very reason.
I also do not see any crazy Marxists at work, perhaps I am far more Marxisr than Capitalist. Capitalism thrives under any infection, factory farms, or mass killings, it is insanely profitable under capitalism, not so much under Marxist value systems. Capitalists simply do not give a fuck. I also directly support availability to abortion facilities for all women, proactively engaged.
